Donna Fareed is an inspirational speaker with a passion for awakening the spiritual essence in everyone. Whatever Floats Your Boat is a power packed, tiny but intense guide to overcoming some of life's obstacles.
Only 38 pages, this is a quick read that can be revisited time and again. The author challenges readers to accept their own destructive behavior and make the necessary changes for a fuller more enlightened life. This is not an intense lesson in spirituality but more of a gentle, easy concept to look deeper and find ones soul. She asks readers to live their lives to the fullest, experiencing all that the Creator has intended.
The "whatever" complex is covered extremely well in Chapter one. Every one of us has at one time or another thought to ourselves, "whatever," as we are experiencing a painful confrontation. Donna Fareed explains how to confront without arousing the other persons anger and how to deal with the situation, rather than pretending to ignore it. Suppressing anger can only lead to stress and physical illness. Her use of the boat as a metaphor for life is witty and evocative. We float, we sink and we row to shore hopefully placing our feet on firmer ground when the book is through.
The author is a talented and spiritual woman who has traveled to Africa and in the US teaching and inspiring others. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband. A recommended quick read for a summers day. It will change the way you think.

My favorite part of the book was the account of how you dealt with the man who was so nasty to you because of an inability to cope with his own unhappiness. It really touched me how you killed him with kindness.

Excellent book!!! I can say for sure that I totally enjoyed it's easy reading style. I especially loved the "Red Devil Fish" and the "Frances" reference.
